On this bridge when we celebrate San Jorge, we move to Ireland, Land of Dragons. One of its lakes Ollipeist dragon legend is born that like our dragon was also defeated, but not San Jorge but San Patricio.
On this trip 1300 kilometers we move to Dublin, to visit our student Naiara Zabala. Naiara is performing module of the training cycle FCTs “Lighting, Capture and Image Processing” a company of the Irish capital. Let's see what you think of the experience so far.
Naiara Good morning! Where are you made the practice? What kind of company?
I'm interning in Dublin, in a photography studio.
What tasks are you going to do, or have you already done?
In the study do a bit of everything. Mounting and dismounting sets, photo editing, print, development of orders, Framed pictures, etc. The work is diverse, well, no photos yet.
Why did you decide to take an Erasmus + placement?
I thought making practices abroad could be an enriching experience for me. Being in a new country, your language, your culture, different ways of doing things… Something you could see in both the company and outside it.
What kind of accommodation have you got? How did you get it?
The issue of accommodation in Dublin is an odyssey. With an extremely high housing demand and tight supply, things have not been easy in this regard. The first few weeks I went from shelter to shelter, They spent three until finally I managed to find a floor. I found the apartment through an Internet website, after sending many emails to different floors. Here most of the ads are false, therefore to find real people who should seek to rent a room has been without doubt the most expensive of my stay.
What advice would you give to your colleagues who are thinking of applying for an Erasmus+ placement next year?
I would tell them to be patient first. The whole process is very slow at first and becomes something desperate to see how time passes and you do not have the certainty that you would like to have. If you have any fear about going out encouraging them to take the plunge, because when the truth is nothing as difficult as we think it will be, everything ends up going well (usually). And nothing, who are encouraged to step, worth it for the experience you can live.
Summarize your experience so far in one sentence:
Thank you very much for attending, naiara. Learn a lot!
